Zaida Maldonado-Prather, Attorney at Law

Zaida Maldonado-Prather lives in Indianapolis, Indiana since 2008. She obtained her Juris Doctor in 2007 from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico and was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 2011.

Before law school, Zaida worked in Puerto Rico in the areas of sales and business administration. During law school, she worked hand in hand with six experienced litigators as law clerk at Manuel Porro-Vizcarra Law Office, a well known mid-sized civil and labor-law firm in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Here, she worked with issues related to different aspects of family law, torts, labor law, contract law, and corporate law from the plaintiff and defendant’s perspective.

In Indianapolis, she worked as a paralegal and investigator for the City of Indianapolis, Office of Corporation Counsel (“OCC”), Equal Opportunity Division. She investigated complaints of discrimination in the areas of employment, education, housing, and public accommodation. She has also served as a Volunteer Attorney for Kid’s Vice of Indiana.

In addition to being result oriented, from these experiences she gained a deep knowledge of customer service and developed strong negotiation and problem solving skills that have been successfully applied to my work in the legal area. She would like to put those skills to work for you.

Zaida Maldonado-Prather, Abogada

La abogada Zaida Maldonado-Prather reside en la ciudad de Indianapolis desde el 2008. Se graduó con honores de la Escuela de Derecho de la Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico en el 2007 y fue admitida a la práctica de abogacía en Indiana en el 2011. Antes de estudiar Leyes, la Zaida trabajó en las áreas de ventas y administración de negocios.

Mientra cursaba sus estudios en Leyes, Zaida trabajó como oficial jurídico en el Bufete Legal de Manuel Porro-Vizcarra en Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Allí laboró mano a mano con seis experimentados abogados litigantes representando demandantes y demandados en las áreas de derecho de familia, daños, ley laboral, contratos, y corporaciones. En Indianapolis, Zaida laboró con la Oficina del Abogado de la Ciudad de Indianapolis (conocida como “OCC”). Allí tuvo la oportunidad de investigar querellas relacionadas a discrimen en las áreas de empleo, educación, vivienda y acómodo público. Zaida también colabora con varias organizaciones sin fines de lucro en Indianapolis.

Zaida se destaca por ser una profesional orientada a obtener resultados para sus clientes, y por sus destrezas en servició al cliente y negociación. Detrezas que han sido aplicadas exitosamente en su práctica legal.
